The history of Zhouzhuang: In 770 BC-476 BC, Zhouzhuang was a part of the fief Yaocheng and called Zhenfengli. After being donated to Full Fortune (Quanfu) Temple by Zhou Digong, a very devout Buddhist, in 1086 during the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127), Zhouzhuang got its present name as a memorial of the donor. Nowadays, this place became a popular place for tourist. Interesting place in Zhouzhuang: The Twin Bridges (Shuang qiao), Fuan Bridge, Shen House, Zhang House, Milou Tower, and Chengxu Taoist Temple.
Tour Itinerary:
①Our English speaking tour guide will pick you up from your hotel by private vehicle at departure time.
② Drive one hour to Zhouzhuang -the No. 1 water village of China. Visit Ancient Town -keeps architectural layout from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) Dynasties.
③ Then we will visit waterways -by which the ancient waterway town gains the name: Venice East. Proceed to visit old traditional-style residences before we transfer you back to your hotel in Shanghai.
